Rob Whittle work chiefly in clay, plaster, wax and metal.
His subjects are taken from movement in dance, circus and everyday life. His female figures stretched and contorted bodies in space reveal the tensions and tears of life. Some sculptures show erotic poses, fantasies or intimate moments recalled.

The sometimes acrobatic stances of his works lead the viewer through the theatre of his own imagination.
His studies of hands and feet reveal great sensuality and tenderness.

“When working on a detail, for exemple a foot,
I think the balance throughout the whole body”
explains the artist.

Whittle ‘s work is an elegant balance of movement and structure.

Bachelor of Arts (Sculptor),
Wolverhampton polytechnic, England
Lecturers : Ron Dutton, Anish Kapoor

He has worked periodically with French sculptors Robert Couturier and Claude Abeille.

He has lived and works in the suburbs of Paris since 1986.
